To the Campus Community:

Updates on DACA

As of January 9, 2018, due to a preliminary injunction in the case of Regents of Univ. of Cal. v. Dep’t of Homeland Security, the Department of Homeland Security has resumed processing DACA renewal applications. However, this is only a preliminary injunction, which means that renewals will be allowed pending a final decision in the case. We do not know how long this renewal opportunity will last – it could only be a few days, so we urge students and staff who are eligible to renew their DACA to seriously consider doing so as quickly as possible.

For more information about DACA renewals under this preliminary injunction, please refer to the resources below available to our UCLA community:

Updates on TPS

On January 8, 2018, the Department of Homeland Security announced it would be ending Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Salvadoran nationals effective September 9, 2019. TPS has also recently been terminated for nationals of Haiti and Nicaragua (effective July 22, 2019 and January 5, 2019, respectively), and is being considered for termination for nationals of Honduras. We encourage all students and staff to seek legal support to assess your situation if you or a member of your immediate family is a TPS holder. Please see the resources below offered by UCLA:
